A Good Life in Hell is an illustrated book cowritten with illustrator Ai Tatebayashi telling the life stories of Sumiteru Taniguchi, a survivor of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki, and his wife Eiko.  In his role as cowriter, Justin Neely served as development editor, English-to-English translator (rewriting passages of his Japanese collaborator’s prose) and original writer.

The book was released in the United States in 2015 in its original English form, then published in Japanese translation by Shufunotomo Co. in Japan in 2016. For more information about ordering options, visit the book’s website.
